Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,
Spring is an
wonderful time. New growth. Vibrant colors. A chance to spend some time
outdoors in God's creation - without several layers of heavy clothing!
When I see all the refreshing new life Spring brings, I'm reminded of the
refreshing spirit at Lincoln Chapel. Working with you these past ten months has
brought a sense of springtime to my faith. Together, we are experiencing the
joy of salvation - joy that can only come from Jesus Christ.
Now that Spring is upon us, maybe you've noticed that Lincoln Chapel has
grown in many ways...
Growth! Within the last four months, we have been touched by missionaries
like William Aldana, a deaf pastor from Colombia who is leading many people to
salvation. Our hearts were warmed by his presentation, and we were able to
assist him in his ministry and develop a lasting bond of friendship. We have
met Rev. John Hammond and his son, Michael, from Ghana. We were able to pay for
a full year of education for Michael - an opportunity which has been truly life
changing for him. We have come together to share in learning about the many
types of missions, with trips to Lewisburg, Harrisburg, and New York City. And
in just the last four months alone, we have raised well over $4,000 just for
missions! Thanks be to God for the opportunities given to us - and for the
courage we have to take those opportunities!
Growth! We have a new Sunday School class meeting at the parsonage. "Just
the Facts" offers a chance for group dialogue on the basics of what we believe.
With this new class combining with the other classes, our Sunday School
attendance has increased over 20%! Praise God for those who want to grow closer
to Him!
Growth! And we have so many wonderful ideas still in the planning stages.
This is such an exciting time to be a part of the Lincoln Chapel family.
Working with you in ministry is a joy and a blessing. Let's continue to follow
God wherever He may lead, knowing that we shall continue to experience the
growth that only a spiritual springtime can bring!
Marcia and I wish you the greatest joys of springtime.
