Dear friends,
     I'd like to use my monthly letter to share with you one of the most exciting developments at Lincoln Chapel in a long time. 
     It was at a meeting that someone said to me, "You know, we haven't had a Rally Day or an Invite-a-Friend Sunday here in a long time."  This is my fifth year with you, and I don't recall ever having a function like that.  Before I could respond, someone beat me to it:  "We can't do those anymore!" was the reply.  "Why not?"  "Because the church is practically full now.  If everyone at church now invites a friend, our friends would have to sit in their cars, because there's no more room in the sanctuary!"
     What a problem to have!  Too many people that we can't invite any more, for fear that there won't be room!
     Our leadership met and discussed the issue for several months.  We feel that, for now, our best option is to add a second worship service on Sunday morning.  Beginning September 4th, our new early service will be offered at 8:30.  Sunday school will follow at 9:30.  And our current (10:15) service will be moved ahead just a bit to 10:30.
     For those who already assist in worship, I would ask for your cooperation as this new format is put into place.  You may be asked to help more frequently until new lists of helpers can be made.  If you're interested in helping out, please let me know.  There is much yet to do!
     Remember - we are doing this because God has blessed us with an abundance.  In a time where many churches are declining in attendance and ministry, Lincoln Chapel is running ahead.  Because of your faithful prayers, presence, gifts and service, we are now reaping God's harvest!
     If you're not already involved at Lincoln Chapel, now is the time to jump in!  Come and meet new friends.  Come and share what God is doing in our midst.  Come and GROW with us!
