Lincoln Chapel is Christ's family
welcoming all to experience God's love
through worship, prayer, fellowship, and service.

Dear friends,

I am taking this opportunity to share with you a few "updates" on selected ministries here at Lincoln Chapel.  In these seven months as your pastor, I have been blessed to have seen God's leading in these specific areas.
Our new missions team is up and running.  God has given Lincoln Chapel the opportunity to extend ministry beyond our church community and into our local region - and even across the world.  The missions team has several "field trips" scheduled to investigate local, regional, and global missions opportunities.  Please uphold them in your prayers as they bring the love and kindness of our congregation out into the world.
A very special thank you is extended to the Lincoln Chapel family.  At that time of this writing, over $2,300 has been given to the 2001 Christmas Offering.  100% of these moneys will be given to support our congregation's new mission emphasis.  Stay tuned for further updates on the specific missions programs to be supported by Lincoln Chapel.
Twelve people spent a snowy Saturday in January to consider what God is doing in our midst.  The five-hour program included developing a self statement (see above), discovering where our church needs God's healing touch, and developing specific goals that can be met using our strengths for ministry.  A thank you goes out to those who gave of their time to ensure that our ministry in 2002 is in accordance with God's will.  One major emphasis to be pursued will be the redevelopment of our Christian Education program.  Other areas that we feel God pulling us into ministry are:  working with children, working in our community, and evangelism.  By working together, we can make ministry a success!
Can you feel it?  The Spirit of God IS moving at Lincoln Chapel!  In fact, our congregation feels so strongly that we can accomplish more of God's will for us that we have added to and expanded our ministry for 2002.  Spiritually, this means your prayers and talents are needed all the more!  Financially, this works out to a 7% increase in our budget.  We are confident that God will provide our every need.  Let's all share in the responsibility for ministry - so we can all share in God's blessing.
February is upon us.  Cabin fever may be setting in.  Those mid winter blahs are here.  But our ministry at Lincoln Chapel is vibrant.  Come and join our church family as we work together toward a common goal - to do the will of God.
Marcia and I send our love and appreciation,

Pastor Jon West
