Who Am I?

Dear Son,
You cannot imagine how pleased I am that you are the king of Judah.  Who would have thought your reign would last these past forty-one years!  Remember the beginning when we had ten years of peace?
It is a blessing to me that you have done what is right in the eyes of the Lord, as David had done.  Removing the foreign altars and high places, smashing the sacred stones and cutting down those Asherah poles had everyone talking.
Remember when the Cushites marched against you?  You went to meet them with an army of 580,000 men. And even though they outnumbered you, the Lord struck them down and they fled before you.  Because so many of them fell, they were never able to recover.
When that prophet Azariah came to see you, you took courage and removed those detestable idols from the whole land of Judah and Benjamin.  You even repaired the altar of the Lord that was in front of the portico of the Lord’s temple.
If you could have heard the people talking when you demoted your grandmother as the Queen Mother!  I always told her that Asherah pole would get her in trouble.  I heard you cut it down and burned it in the Kidron Valley.
I was pleased when you put the silver and gold you and your father dedicated into the temple.  But I was surprised that you gave it to the king of Aram to make a treaty with him.  Hanani came to speak to you and you got angry with him and threw him in prison.
I heard you’ve been to see the physician because of a problem with your feet.  I hope that it’s getting better.  Remember, Son, you can always seek God’s help with that.

Love, Your Mother

(Can you guess who my son is?)
